Default Rig storage near Road Atlanta track

    Morning!

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can leave my rig for 2 weeks between the March 8 SCCA race and the FRP race
2 weeks later at RA? Discount airfare makes it a no brainer to drive back and forth, not to mention the fatigue factor. My rig is a 40ft motor home and 28ft trailer.

I have been told there is a parking lot across from the track. Is that a safe option? Has anyone done it?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Maybe call Road Atlanta directly? I've seen rigs parked near the registration building...

This is a recurring thread. You can park in the dirt north of the reg building beside route 53; it's unlit, unsecured, and at your risk.

There are a couple of businesses across the street .. and I THINK there is some space BEHIND those buildings. At least one of them is occupied by an HSR racer IIRC. Unfortunately, I do NOT know how to contact anyone -but if you don't find anything before the HST event weekend, you could walk across the street and ask. (any space in the rear, could, of course be occupied. I've never been back there - just see a road/driveway.

Another possibility would be to contact Jim Downing - he owns the property formally known as Lanier Raceway - roundy round. Now used for intermittent testing and some AX and Drift events. I suspect there might be an event there DURING the HST weekend - no idea what the situation might be there.

Do a search on Google Maps for RV storage around RA. There are a bunch near Lake Lanier - here is one I have noticed before: https://northharborstorage.net/pricing

You might have to pay $ 150 or so for a month.

    Good luck.

How about an RV CAMPGROUND? You might be able to find a pull through. Some campgrounds also have a storage area for long term visitors. Probably a LOT safer than most 'storage lots'.
Or maybe some place like this...

Here's another - about 90 minutes north of Atlanta. I pass it several times a week - it's mostly small 'garage type' but they added some pavement a couple years ago. You'd probably have to disconnect and rent 2 spots, but reasonably accessible.
