Hewland porn

I have always loved Hewland gear boxes, so I took an old very greasy MK8 and did this.

Cool. But the raw magnisum VW case simply will not stay nice because it the mag will corrode and become mottled rather quickly. I've always painted that portion of the gear box black. Now that you've got it nice and clean, a good rattle can primer and engine paint will work just fine and it will last. Of couse I do that when the box is completly stripped down so no real neeed for PITA masking.

I shot the striped case with clear acrylic enamel to keep that problem away.
