    Default 1980 Lola 540E

This is the wide track version of the 540. It comes with 4 spare front lower A arms, and 2 spare front upper A arms. All are new and unplated. It has 4 Revolutions, 2 older Centerline and 2 new Panasports. It has one spare nose and a (very rough) second complete body with the Sports car nose. The belts are good thru 2024

The cockpit is surprisingly large, very similar to a Crossle 32. I have 6 other FFs in my shop and my bigger drivers only fit in the Crossle and the 540.

I bought the car in May and since then have rewired, replumbed, added a brake balance kit, new air cleaner, new Tilton pressure plate and clutch disc, new brake pads, new clutch master cylinder, replaced the Tach, and basically gone thru the entire car. I also completely rebuilt the engine. It now has a magnufluxed 20-20 crank, Ivey forged pistons(.0035 clearance), ARP rod and main bearing bolts, and iron head.

Since the above we ran the car in two test sessions at Barber to insure the engine and chassis were solid. This car now needs nothing to go racing.

    $18,500

    Default Price reduced

    New price. $17,000

In October the car was run during the CVAR weekend at Hallet by one of my SRF drivers who is local to Hallet and agreed to come out to test the car. Unfortunately the fuel cell foam disintegrated and caused the car to quit after a few laps. When the car ran, it went well. Richard started race 4 last, and was leading by lap 4. He set the fastest lap by over a second, at 123.093.
The fuel cell has been removed, flushed, and new foam added.

Can you share a picture of the chassis plate - model and serial number?
