    Default oh joy, another run group

    EDIT: deleted, sorry I brought it up;
    apparently the majority of responders are ok with the 29 (?) or more classes these days and the reduced track time for higher entry fees.

    while I appreciate all they've done for club racing over the years, lets just face the truth and rename the 'scca' as the "Mazda motorsports club of america"
    I didn't see where it said a new run group. Just a class. So I suspect they will run in the current SM group.

    SCCA announcement, which is a little more specific, here: https://www.scca.com/articles/201773...-class-in-2024

    Basically, SMX has been a class at SCCA events for some years, but becomes a Runoffs class for 2024. From the SCCA announcement: "SMX will be integrated into existing run groups like Spec Miata, Touring, or Super TouringĀ® during Hoosier Super Tour and U.S. Majors Tour events, but will have its own race at the Runoffs."

    In some degree, a natural evolution of SM, which combines several generations of Miata. Equilibrating engines has always been a challenge.

    No new run group. Click-bait post title.

    If it is run with SM what is the problem?? Another presumably healthy class is good for all of us., IMHO

    Unless participation in this group gets seriously out of hand it'll either be grouped with SMs or with the catch-all slow tintop group. (T4, STL, etc.) Why would you expect it to get a run group of its own?
