    Default Indycar @ Laguna Seca

Watching a bit of the race I noticed they had to refuel the pace car because it's spending so much time on the track. Multiple occasions of FCY at the restart - these guys are bumping more than NASCAR. WTF?

I gave up after I don't know how many times they could not go one lap on a restart without two or more colliding.

Some of the most atrocious driving in a long time!
Worst part: that dip**** Diffey calling it ‘exciting’ because of the repave.

Remember "back-in-the-days" when guys like Michael Andretti or Alex Zanardi could complete passes on the grass in the esses?
These guys can't get through turns on-track...

Well, they don't call it the season ending race for nothing. A car owner once told me, that he was happy if, they bought home the steering wheel. I guess the whole field was told that.

A lot of the crashes were caused by the insane idea of allowing restarts BEFORE T11. Almost guaranteed to have some kind of contact. I don't understand why they couldn't use the regular start/finish line, and hold the flag until most everyone gets around T11, then everyone can get somewhat sorted out.

Helio should have been black-flagged and parked. Completely out of control, damn near hit Palou. Same for McLaughin. If they would have parked these two the others would have surely got the message.

They penalized Dixon for what I saw as a "racing incident" (he still won), and they made Rossi give back a position for "blocking"...yet Hello was a rolling disaster, and I don't think he was penalized at all. After almost taking out Palou, he then ran into Herta. He needs to retire.

    1) Spec cars that now all seem equally prepared.

    2) Beautiful track, but very poor to race on in very fast cars. No legitimate passing zones. Have to take big risks to make anything happen.

I didn't understand why they couldn't hold the green until at least half the field was around the corner. As soon as the guys here "Green!" they're going to go nuts. There's few other chances to pass.

Speaking of...pundits have said, "Indycars have outgrown Laguna" since the '90s. Nothing has changed. I still was entertained by the chaos. I was rooting for the little guys, Illot and Canapino to hang in there.

Helio showed why it's time to call it a career. Rather embarrassing performance for a 4-time Indy winner.

Umm, no, there's nothing to learn from us club racers for these guys...

When you have to crash with Brendan Peterson, battling for last place .......
And then he had the gall to parade around the paddock after the race, celebrating!
He should have been hiding in a port-a-potty.

Palou and Dixon showed why they are the best!

Dixon said on that last restart that he decided to go coming out of the penultimate corner so as to prevent the last corner melee they've been getting. Dixon is a master. He controlled the race more than Race Control had all day.

Race control was a total joke. Yeah, Helio should've been parked, if not before certainly after the near miss with Palou. Dixon gets a drive through but Herta slams into the back of somebody and got none. Herta most definitely jumped that start; notice the broadcast didn't do a comparison for that like they did for Palou's pit entry stroke of luck? He should've at least been penalized for getting out of line, if not for jumping the start. He also went over the outer track limits heading to turn 1; should've been a penalty. RC took forever to go green, too; they need the RC team from the Trans-AM series.
