Racing pre-mix 2 cycle oil. $60-75/gallon?

Hey guys,

When I was a teenager with a 2 stroke motocross dirt bike we believed paying more $ for the synthetic Golden Spectro 2 cycle oil would give us more power, less carbon build-up, etc. Well, not buying large quantities of gas and 2 cycle oil for the Renesis engine I’m questioning paying 2 to 3 times the money for the “racing” version of 2 cycle oils.

Those of you that have actually lived with these decisions have you seen tangible outcomes from These choices? Is there really a difference running in our engines with max rpm round 8500 or less? Racing is expensive enough, I don’t wanT To pay For mrieTunG hype. But I will pay for needed quality. Thanks in advance!

Buy the Idemitsu pre-mix that was designed for it. Case of 12 quarts is $120 so $40/gallon on Amazon or $88.88 on Mazdatrix ($30/gallon). Plus shipping.

The street version of the 13B has an oil metering pump that just squirts your regular engine oil into the chamber. When the pump fails, the motor fails shortly after (ask me how I know). It stands to reason, though, that stuff designed to mix with your fuel would be better, and you're not using so much that the expense is great. My guy says the regular Lucas motorcyle blend is good enough.
