Default Hoosier Tire Build for CMod

The CMod tire buy from Hoosier is stuck at 18 short of the number required by Hoosier to do the build.

If anyone plans to put in an order please do so this week.

If we don't reach 60 tires we prove to Hoosier that the class is not worth their while.

    Please contact R&S Racing.

If every owner of a FF on the CM list bought two rear tires, we would buy 90 tires. Come on, guys. Or, maybe you would prefer sliding around on the CF R60 tires. Or, buying 8" rear wheels.

Follow-up on the CMod Hoosier buy ...

No money needed until end of month. But please do put in your order with R&S Racing.

    Hey Jim,

I thought it was when the tire's would ship out from R&S, well anyways that was my impression?

Here's what Ron Ver Mulm of R&S wrote:

"We will require payment before the order is placed with Hoosier.
The orders are non-cancelable and nonrefundable."

    Ben/Jim.

Via Sonya from R&S, a summary of payment terms regarding R20 FF rear tires:

~ NO charges will be made when you place an order.
~ IF R&S has a min of 60 tires on order, THEN you will be charged once that order is submitted to Hoosier (EST week of 4/30).
~ IF that order is placed, THEN "No Cancellations / No Refunds" applies. That is, you are locked into your order once it is submitted to Hoosier.
~ IF that order is placed, THEN you will be charged for shipping once the tires ship (EST Jul). That is, the first charge will not include shipping charges.
~ Finally, IF that order is NOT placed, THEN NO charges will be made.

In summary, there will be NO charges IF this order falls apart. IF the order goes forward, two charges will be made; first for the tires (EST week of 4/30) and a second for shipping (EST Jul).

    Default Increasing the tire count

I just placed my order for (6) tires with Sonya. Not sure if I'll get the car together this year (trying) but I don't want to see CM die and/or radically changed. This solution seems to be the best plan moving forward.

Thank you for your foresight and community spirit. It seems like those are in short supply, like our tires.

At one week to go until the deadline, we are at 54 of 60 needed.

I called this morning and added 2 (I'm having trouble committing to more unless truly necessary given that I don't have a working car and have never actually driven a mod car or FF to date). My 2 got us to 56. I offered to potentially buy more to get us over the number and Sonya mentioned that at least one other person had done the same so we're probably there.

On a related note, if anyone is looking to offload some used tires I would much prefer to go through growing pains/testing on old rubber than waste new rubber. Doubly true if some extra cash may make it easier for someone else to put money down for more new tires.

Received confirmation via R&S that the R20 rear tire order is a go!

Thanks to everyone in the CM community for pulling this off. Special thanks to R&S for brokering this order.

This is a big relief. Now we can run the 2023 season normally and begin discussing how to proceed for 2024 and beyond. Sonya Ver Mulm is of the opinion that Hoosier will not produce this tire again. How about we begin a new thread shortly with thoughts on the future of the class as far as FF's are concerned.

I've been trying to place my order for the past few days. I've called and emailed several times without response of any kind. Did you guys get a response or just place the order via the website and hope for the best?

    Thanks,
    Jason

FINALLY got a call back. Well they placed the order Monday.... So I'm SOL. Let me know if anyone has an extra pair they don't need.

BTW, they're claiming that Hoosier would only build 60 or 108, which isn't what was stated here.

Was going to buy a set of Hoosiers for my BM car since Avons are going the way of the dodo, but I'll go through a vendor that is actually responsive.

Thanks for your help guys. Seriously not happy with R&S....
