    Default Lotus 51A Modifications

I have a 1967 Lotus 51A that I have been vintage racing for a couple of years. It's in very good condition but I'd like to change some of the faults. Currently the car still has the coolant running through the frame and I'd like to change it to an external system. I was wondering if anyone out there has made this modification and could provide a little guidance on the routing of the lines. Photos would be great. In addition, the car currently retains its original Renault gearbox. I have a 4 speed MK9 to go in it but would like some guidance on how to fabricate and route the right-hand linkage. Again, photos would help. Thanks.

Contact Peter Denty in the UK, he or James will sort you out on the rad tubes and gear linkage.

For the Mk9, you will need Lotus type side plates to mate with the frame. Also you will need tripod/rotoflex output shafts which are found in the MK8 or MK6 unless you are going to run CV joints

Thanks for your help. It looks like Peter Denty Racing can help me.
