    Default revolutions

Its been years, but I had good luck with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish, elbow grease, and some decent quality rattlecan satin black. Probably Krylon.

It should be obvious to give them a good clean first and tape off the parts you don't want to get paint on.

    Cheap, lightweight, no dismounting required.

Rustoleum makes a "hammered" finish combination primer/spray paint. Masking off, etching with muratic acid, priming and painting with the hammered finish produced great results. Easy to repaint and hide the chipped spots too.

I found it at my local Ace hardware store.

Beware of the solubility of a lot of Rustoleum finishes in almost any solvent. I found that to be an issue when cleaning with anything more aggressive than wax or water-based cleaners.

Completely agree. Here in the Nanny State of Peoples Republik of Kalifornia the state regulates aerosol paint ingredients. I clean my wheels with water based cleaners and use Mother's aluminum polish on the exposed aluminum.

Have a great race season, Dave!

If you were speaking of tear down, clean, inspect, replace bolts, reseal, repaint, there is an extensive thread in the archives. If I can find it I will post a link. I think it was started by EJ Generotti.
