    Default "Greasy" air hose

I have a black Goodyear air hose that has become greasy. By this I mean it is slick and marks your hands and anything it touches. It's been kept inside unless filling tires or something out side, but well taken care of. No cracks or sings of abuse.
Any ideas on cleaning or preventing this again?

    Thanks,
    Will

That's the plasticizer and some of the rubber compound's oil migrating to the surface. I'd remove it with Brakleen or similar. Water solutions might get some of it off, but it would likely remain sticky. Eventually, the hose might deteriorate because of cleaning that stuff off, but, IMO, you won't want to use it as it is.

several times a year I just take mineral spirits, soak a rag, and hold onto the line as I crank the spool.
