    Default Zink C4 age

Hello all, I just purchased this Zink and was wondering what year it was manufactured.
It’s frame #42605. The log book I have dates back to 1980, I’m not sure it’s the original log from when it was new.
I will be at the VRG drivers school in May with it.

The car looks like it was built around 1970 or later. It appears to have the lower front bulkhead of the later cars.

You ca make a major improvement in the handling of the car, if you can redo the driving position by getting a different fuel cell and adopting the steering system of the Zink Z12. You can then replace the roll bar with a roll bar structure that was much closer to the original on the car.

The numbers you have may be the log book numbers which were issued by the region the car was first registered in.

Send me a private message if you are interested.

Steve Lathrop has forgotten more about these cars than I'll ever know but I will add that the newest one on my unofficial Registry was a kit from 1975, just as the Z12 was getting ready for production, per the original owner of the 1975 Z5.

As Steve said, you have the roll bar stamp/Logbook #, which says that the original Tech was in the Washington DC Region, the 605th car they did.

I have a friend here in TN who has MANY Ducati bikes! He really liked the single cylinder, smaller displacement models but he's finally getting motivated to start selling some stuff. I'm guessing that he has at least 20 total motorcycles between his 2 car garage, his attic and a storage facility.
