    Default iRacing- Ray F1600 coming

I am surprised no one has mentioned it here yet, although it did seem to be forgotten about rather quickly... but iRacing has a Ray F1600 coming soon.

    Default Released

FYI for those interested, the car was released today and is a part of the Base (free) Content so all you need is a membership to drive it. They've also released a new scan of VIR a couple updates ago as base content as well.

My initial impression is that it is very tail happy. But not having driven a FF in 35 years it could just be my reflexes

I am working on tuning out some of the oversteer. I noticed it comes with more than the base setup right from the start.

Plus the Avon tires are not like slicks, but I have run on street and treaded racing tires way back when.

Has anyone run a similar tire at Lime Rock in a real Ford to give an idea what a typical lap would be?

I have not tried Brands yet.

    Curious about other peoples reactions.

I think it is a bit tail happy out of the box too, but I tweaked my steering wheel Force Feedback & was able to feel and catch it sooner. But yes, I am willing to bet the Avon tires contribute to this feel vs. Hoosier slicks. Just like the normal FV tires vs. Challenge Cup tires. If you watch the F1600 races from other countries, they certainly slide around more.

I have also started playing around with painting again for these. Been a while & I am rusty, but gotta start somewhere... so I am doing the Arrive Drive scheme first, since it's just a matter of decal creation & placement. I really wish iRacing would allow us to move the number location from the sim-stamped spot to a more realistic one.

I tried it last night and although I have no real frame of reference, it feels really tail happy to me too. In fact, all of iRacing does after going over to RF2 for a couple of months.

I am guessing the tail happy feeling is due to the Avon tires not being like the Hoosier slicks here. Max Esterson kinda talks about that a bit in his article.
