    Default Finally Finished !

Finally got around to finishing a project I started a couple years ago. It started out as a 1982 Van Diemen FF project with an incomplete engine. I converted the rear to 81 VD as I wanted that style and couldn't find a donor frame. Ivey built the engine to FB spec with twin Webers, including all new internals, topping out at 170 HP. Still trying to figure out an engine cover that looks right.

The car is a recreation of the original Gurney Eagle F1, which started out with a Coventry Climax 4 cylinder for the first few races. Would convert it to that if I could find a suitable one.

    A few more pics.

Trying to come up with an engine cover design, the one in the picture is an early design, needs to be more substantial. Next to the nose this is the most complicated part to build.

This is what my LeGrand FB had for the engine cover. The piece in front of the cam cover was a separate attaching part.

Gurney's car ran minimal bodywork back there so that may make your task less daunting. What is done looks very good!
