Default New Driver and Finding a Ride

Okay, I'm not exactly an active sports car driver seeking a seat somewhere just yet, but I wanted to play with the scenario and tap into the wealth of information that exists amongst you aficionados.

Let's say I become a licensed driver, perhaps for SCCA sanctioned events, but I don't have ride. How common is it for a car owner to offer a seat in exchange for money, and how might someone find such an owner? How does an owner who needs/wants a driver find one?

I suspect any owner would also be keen to know the driver's credentials and capabilities, but it's not clear to me how that relationship starts and moves forward. Any insight into this kind of business arrangement/relationship would be helpful. Maybe it's not very common at all in amateur racing. Happy to be enlightened!

Common.... but I think you'll need to start with someone in the rental business first.

Talk to Jason at Bulldog. He has rentals and contacts.

Thanks for the tip! And that makes sense. Also, I'll likely be swinging by ThunderHill spring next year to see what the track is all about. Family in Fresno.
