Default Hot tank solution for cases

My dad is looking for suggestions on a hot tank solvent. For his 40 years in the VW business he always used a chemical called Panther (made in TX) mixed with water. That company is out of business and we are looking for alternatives. Any suggestions on a magnesium friendly chemical?

Is this to clean the casing or do the chemicals give a better appearance?

We have used the Aircraft Simple Green in the shop in our hot tank and ultrasonic for the past few years. It doesn't eat up the magnesium parts, doesn't discolor or etch bare aluminum, and does a decent job with degreasing. Like most aqueous solutions, you need to either have it smoking hot or use agitation to get it do do the business but I'd say I'm satisfied with it. It also has a tolerable scent when heated. Not a very "chemical" sort of smell, if that makes sense.
