    Default LD200 Venting

What is the correct way to vent an LD200 ?

On my previous car, there was a vent from the topmost area (above shifter) back cover through a small tube to an overflow can.

On my current car, there is vent fashioned into the plug above the R&P. In contains some foam and a screen.

The issue I'm having is fluid comes out of there. If I push on the screen, the foam piece is saturated.
It seems to me that above the R&P is one of the most violent areas.

I can plug that, but what is the best way to vent the LD200 ?

Plug the current vent. As of old......drill & tap a hole on top into the rear cover just above the shifter selector to which you would then place your fitting and exit line - make sure the fitting is sunk no more than the thickness of the cover material itself so as to not come close to the shifter selector. When changing out gear sets, I don't remove the fitting - I simply take the exit line out of its catch bottle.

    Default LD200 vent

I prefer your current location, but I use a -3AN banjo and bolt, plus a length of -3AN brake hose venting to the oil catch tank.(or hidden from tech under something).

Thanks all - for confirming I need to change this.

I believe both methods will probably work fine.

I'll modify the current vent (less destructive) and see how that works for me.
