Gents;
I discovered a family owned transponder sales and service business that converted my xponder to hard-wired.
The turn-around time was three (3) weeks, the quality of the materials and workmanship exceptional, and the cost was $85.00 plus shipping.
Trust me, the minimal expense to hard-wire vs. the monkey business of charging is well worth it.
FWI, I contacted MyLaps, and was advised a three (3) amp inline fuse is ideal for surge protection.
BTW, there are some models similar to mine that cannot be hard-wired. Simply unscrew the top plate, take a photo and send it to Julie. They are still ramping up their website, but at their homepage you will find their contact information.
