Apologies if this has been beaten to death, but I only found a thread discussing front wings. When I bought my car, I was told it came with a gen 2 front wing but a gen 1 rear wing. the race shop said this hybrid setup was found to be faster because the narrower rear wing created less drag. After driving it a bit, I'm starting to wonder if the Gen 2 wing would actually be better. My home track has shorter straights and a few high speed sweepers, so I have a lot of rear wing. I would think a wider wing would be better, because you could generate more downforce with less wing angle, in turn reducing the drag penalty compared to a gen 1 wing.

Am I thinking about this correctly? Anyone have views on the gen 1 vs gen 2 rear wings?
