Default Pro Formula Mazda FA Class

Hello. I had two PFM's loved both. We were looking at a third for a friend and rental options. I just heard of a rule change supposedly requires modifications to the side pods and rear wing height. I don't understand the change as PFM's aren't on pace with a Swift or even many converted FB cars. Has anyone else heard this or the reason? Hope it is just a rumor.

They are great cars; reliable, safe, easy to drive, and pretty economical overall. Are they being moved into FX or FS if you don't comply?

    Thanks, Bill

Edit: Maybe it would help the cars. A little bit. But at what cost? If it isn't mandatory to stay in FA, I guess it is no big deal either way. Thanks.

Yes, I heard the same thing Bill. It makes no sense, surely it is just a rumor. The SCCA has always been inclusive of cars. Where do they expect us to go if not FA? So we need to watch closely, but it is so far in left field, it must be a misunderstanding. Please post any updates if you hear anything though.

I'm not seeing anything in the official recommended rule changes (link below). Where else would that info be posted?

There was a thread about it that included more specific info. It had to do with PFM being too wide at the side pods, and too high of a rear wing to meet FA specs. But from more recent posts, on another site, it appears that it is being reconsidered and corrected. Thanks.
