    Default Staffs Gearbox Instruction

Gotta look inside my Staffs for the first time (for me). Last time I opened a gearbox was 10 years ago ... the Hewland on my old FF. Have forgotten most of it but if I was opening a Hewland now, there are lots of great resources available including videos on Youtube.

Other than the Staffs manual, which I have, does anyone know if there are any similar instructional materials on the internet?

    Thanks for any help.

    Jim,

I may be a little late but I have a printed version of a "how to" that used to be available on www.formulafordzetec.co.uk. I wasnt unable to locate it again electronically but would be willing to scan it on Monday if you would like. There isnt much additional helpful information over what is in the manual but it does have a few pictures.

The noteworthy difference from the manual is the torque spec for the pinon and layshaft nuts is 115 ft-lb instead of 100 ft-lb. This is consistent with what you would hear from Scotty (link below). They also recommend inspecting the pinion shaft and bearings with a "torch"... that one took me a few seconds until I remembered the source

Thanks very much Matt. I'd like to take a look at it.
