    Default Traxstar P2 project $6500

    2004 Traxstar
    One off sidewinder P2 from Vancouver.
    Ex Rodger Roatch car. Got the car in 2018.
    Got her back on track the following year at Nelson ledges track day. Also did a solo event later in the year when we had a bit of trouble.
    Had a chassis failure which allowed the jack shaft to move rearward. Chewed up teeth on the engine and jackshaft. Will be glad to discuss in detail. Has 3 spare engines (R1 powered) 3 sets of wheels plus much more . Car otherwise in very nice condition eith only 6 races in the scca logbook. Asking $6500.

    Here ya go. Pretty cool little car. It does have a spool rear end. Also comes with 4 ld19 calipers to replace the current motorcycle ones. Has good fuel cell and fire bottle. Pretty easy fix I'll be glad to talk to you about.

    Default Chassis

    Here are some pics of the problem area. To describe it as a chassis failure was inaccurate on my part. The chassis is fine. What failed is the thin wall square tube the jack shaft mount is attached to. You can see where the tube split at the mounting boss.
    This appears to be a bad design that was destined to fail.
    I can think of several way to strengthen the area pretty easily.
    Other fix requires turning down an engine sprocket and welding it into the jackshaft.
    You can see stops welded in to locate the sprocket.

    Looks like an easy repair to me. I'm not too far away from you; If someone local(ish) buys it and plans to race P2 in the Northeast area I would be happy to weld that up free of charge just to help get one back on the track..

    Yes I believe the car could be back on track in short order. It's just been on the back burner for a couple seasons. If it doesn't sell no worries. I'll get to it sooner or later.

    The car does utilize tdc uprights which I believe wre used on AMAC cars as well

    Replaced the master cylinders and had the shocks serviced in 2019. Also have a nice carbon bi plane rear wing to go with the car.
    Lowing the price a bit to help offset travel costs.

    I seem to recall that the Traxstar developer had filed a number of patents on its design. If this is the only currently running example, does it include the legal rights? Time to lawyer up?
    Anyway, it looks like fun. Good luck to the next owner.

    us and Canadian parents expire after 20 years. In canada you must also pay annual fee .
    I dought the guy has kept up on it. I think we're safe lol
    I do have 3 big binders showing every tube, brackets ,suspension, body ect.
    Must say alot of work went it this project.
