120 minutes covering 7 seasons of Lewis winning race after race. A snooze fest we all enjoyed in real life.

We might have to wait and see, the same things were said of Rush and Ford vs. Ferrari and I loved them both.

Bruckheimer is where it could all go wrong. Pitt’s a great actor, and I hope Lewis has some directional clout as well.

I haven't seen Top Gun Maverick yet, but the reviews are that it's an outstanding flying movie in IMAX as long as you don't care about trivial matters like plot or acting. I'm looking forward to it, and will consider watching a similar treatment of F1.

"Drive to Survive" has become so successful. The producers have access to everybody in real time. Yes, it is edited down to about an hour for each race, but you are seeing the real deal.

I'm afraid a movie will be the same as going to Disney World vs. really hiking in Yosemite back country.

That there was one horrid film. Just the idea of Stallone heeling-and-toeing was enough for me to hate that hot mess.

Lets not be negative. I learned lots about driving from films like "Grand Prix" and "Ford vs. Ferrari". For example, when in a race driving a straight at part throttle in my Formula Ford, all I need to do, to drive past everyone else in the class, is go to full throttle. It's magic. I didn't know how awesome the acceleration would be. 8^)

Now I know to have my mechanic make sure the throttle opens fully to get all those hundreds of horsepower.

It's kind of like WW2 fighter plane movies - the average age of pilots was about 21 years old, and they'd have 40-something actors like John Wayne and Robert Ryan playing pilots. Pappy Boyington was barely 30 when he went back to the Marines, 10 years younger then Robert Conrad who played him.

Oh yeah, the other tip about passing cars: when at top speed, downshift a gear and you'll blow right by.

Another thing is when you are near redline in 4th and need to pass, just downshift to 3rd.

If they pick the right era it might work. I didn't have high hopes for Ford V Ferrari but it exceed my expectations for a watchable movie. Gotta imagine they are going for a sort of summer blockbuster as well, so with the budget maybe its at least entertaining. Hey, Grand Prix is a terrible movie but the racing scenes are glorious. It can't be any worse than Days of Thunder or Driven, there is nothing that could ever be worse than that one right?

On edit: And Cole Trickle is no slouch as a wheelman, either. Of course, his crew mounts tires that are matched perfect and staggered special, so that raises the old is-it-the-driver-or-the-car question.

All that said, I doubt whether even Lewis could pick up quarters, or even ha'pennies, with his tires. So there.
