    Default Gearing for Mosport

    Greetings all
I will be running in the Vintage Festival at Mosport next month and have a 1988 Citation F2000. Does anyone know what gears to use?

    Default Staffs vs Hewland

    Greetings All.

A quick question - can you use Hewland Gears in a Staffs Gearbox?

    Thanks. Robert

You use the same gears as for Hewland Mk 8/9 but not for the Hewland LD200.

    Default Mosport gears

    When I last ran Mosport with a Pinto engine, Staffs gearbox and a 10/31 CWP, I used 19/32, 21/30, 23/28, 19/21.

If you have a recently built top of the line (long rods, etc.) Pinto, you might want to raise 2nd, 3rd & 4th one tooth.

Thanks Dave. I had the correct gear sets for first, second, third but I am off by a slight margin for fourth gear. Seeing I haven’t raced in 25 years I am confident that it will make an infinitesimal difference.

This is your 1988 car so I will send some pic from Mosport.

    Many thanks for your reply!

    Best Robert

Well, that's neat that you have one of my previous cars ! The 4th I ran (19/21) is no longer available. You'll have to use a 24/26, 25/27 or other similar gear. Good luck at Mosport. I loved that track, but haven't been there since 2011. As Sam Posey once said, it's a real test of one's "attachments."
