The track is auctioning off to the highest bidder > "The Last Lap" ....at the PBIR website.
Like anyone would pay a Thousand bucks to turn the last lap ever at that place ?? !!
Sucker born every minute P T Barnum said.
    The place is history, sorry.
Remember the important axiom in real estate > Location, location, location.
    Zoned for what Wally wishes.
Drainage not all that good but good enough to allow new construction.
Probably not a big challenge when it comes to environmental permits....unless one needs to relocate alligators
Sort of central access via several highways to many growing population centers
Good return financially? (like I'd know) to the now-bored-with-turning-laps-at-their-own-playground consortium of Lawyers (for what the rumor mill says) who bought the place from Moroso years ago.

    Yup.......history

But not only from every good thing the opposite too often comes.....also from the opposite - the opposite can come.......such that the Guy wanting to develop the place out in the middle of the North Everglades will maybe be more motivated and speed up the construction.

    Ha Ha....speed up.........pun huh?

Rumor at Homestead last weekend was that the "ink hadn't been put to paper yet" ....but why would there be an auction at the PBIR website about bidding on "The Last Lap" ??

Palm Beach Zoning Commission unanimously rejects application for zoning which was important for PBIR to become the 'warehouse'

Palm Beach County Commissioners will soon meet and could overrule the Zoning Commission.

    Default Warehouses

More and more places are rejecting this large warehouses in their towns as they have come to realize that all the traffic they produce are not worth the few extra tax dollars.

    steps:

    1. go to www.FLSCCA.com
    2. click on: race programs ...not the drop down items that appear when your mouse is on > race programs
    3. then click on the words link for: Palm Beach International Raceway
    4. then click on and read the statement from IRG Sports ..... it's over, it's final.

From the tone of the statement (finality, everything sold, etc.) it sounds like it was a done deal long ago.

For my entry fees - I preferred the layout that the track had when it was Moroso. For me, the change to the configuration finally known as PBIR was a pale imitation of what had gone before, both from the driving aspects as well as the paddock aspects.

anyone lamenting the closing of PBIR might want to look at this:

It is way beyond the idea phase... all of this has been in the works for 2 1/2 years or more. When we lost the bid for PBIR, we immediately went to 'plan B', which is what you see the start of. Stay tuned.

A all text web page is cheap - not even a artists conception of what the facility will look like if and when open to the public.

This case needs Kojak to figure it all out.

    Mannix would be too aggressive.

As long as the site has a marina with dock space so I can back my boat in and watch the racing action from the poop deck, Captain Morgan in hand...

While this is factually correct, when the announcement is placed in context of being associated with a ongoing and well known series and an individual who has the background and ability to move this project forward.. Land parcels of this size in Florida as not easily found and I am doubtful an announcement would be made unless their was a least an option on the land.

It is obvious that the project has a ways to go but their is demand in the area for this sort of facility and including a drag strip in the plans also allows a regular revenue stream in addition to road course rentals.

I am optimistic and I think this community should be hopeful and supportive rather than dismissive.

I am hopeful. At the very least a 'artist conception' of the facility would have been helpful.

GROUND ZERO FOR A NEW MOTORSPORTS FACILITY

Goal is to keep you informed of our progress in building Atlantic Farms Motorsports Park.

When it proved two years ago that our attempted purchase of PBIR was not possible, we elected to build a new world class facility from scratch

In coming weeks we will be announcing our specific location as well as renderings of the facility on our website

Some hope on that front..but you never know....
The Commissioners -even the pro-development ones, have been big on quality of resident life since a big part of revenue stream for Palm Beach county is People and not industry. Traffic density is one of the "quality of life" hot buttons. There are quite a few houses in a large spread out high dollar development on the side of PBIR. The traffic gets a bit congested around there at shift changes for Pratt and Whitney Military engine factory directly across the beeline highway from PBIR.

Default Bored Florida racers read this...........

Bored, I decided to see if anything new was posted about the FRP Atlantic Farms Motorsports Park in Florida. I found something that had to do with the now closed PBIR track. The article made passing comment about two things that I guess are worth passing on.....

One was that Portman Industrial was no longer going to become the owner of the former PBIR site because their contract was contingent on zoning.....which did not work out in a timely fashion......so the PBIR owner canceled the Portman contract thinking that with the property back on the market, the PBIR owner could get a better $ deal later from someone. In the meantime there was no thought to reopen the place as a track.
The same article referenced FRP as if FRP had at one time been interested in acquiring PBIR......but that's not happening. Also mentioned was a FRP June 2022 news conference that was to happen concerning Atlantic Farms Motorsports Park.....but the conference didn't happen. At least there was mention that FRP is yet committed, FRP spokesman Corey Saban was quoted to say.

found title: Palm Beach International Raceway: Portland Industrial's warehouse plan spins out

Read something today at a Lotus site that a section of PBIR has been torn up in an effort to prevent someone from sneaking out onto it.
    Well, there goes the neighborhood

Sixth Street Partners made it very clear that PBIR would never be a racetrack again. All the equipment was sold off. Why they haven't re-bid it is a mystery, but then Sixth Street probably has bigger fish to fry these days...(look up the Elon Musk/Twitter deal)

Can't find anything easily. Most info is old from early to mid 2022, but what I do see appears to say the site is not PBIR. "Atlantic Farms’ website says the property is 20 minutes from PBIR, which is in Palm Beach County on the Beeline Highway west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. Saban said the new site is in Martin County but wouldn’t say where. An 890-acre property owned by R&B Ranch has been listed for sale as a hunting retreat for $7.9 million in Martin County. It’s on the Beeline Highway, known as Southwest Warfield Boulevard, just northwest of PBIR. But it’s only about 10 miles away from PBIR — about a 10-minute ride.
In its May 13 press release, Atlantic Farms took the unusual step of releasing plans before lining up zoning approvals.
