    Default 3D printable FC Models

So for those that don't follow the 3D printing thread here on Apex I have been working on making 3D printable models of some FC/F2000 cars.

I have completed the first version of the 2004 Mygale SJ04 and am now starting in on the 98+ Van Diemen

The cars are 1/8th scale so around 20" long and are designed to be printable on a standard ender 3 style printer.

They can either be glued together or assembled by using M3 heat inserts and M3x8mm socket cap screws.

The model is also designed to have interchangeable parts so you can have different aero packages / wheels / tires / diffusers etc. (So you can print out your exact car if you wish)

I am starting this thread so we don't clog up the 3D printing thread and also this would probably be the better target for getting people to help me with pictures/ measurements for making the models.

If you wish to get a copy of the files to print send me a PM and I will get you a link to the files.

Sorry to just add some drivel here....but after seeing the front on picture I had to add >>>

I would really like the file. Thank you in advance.

And after enough of us make one, where will the get together be for the pinewood derby type down the chute race ?

I do not have the mid 90's VD modeled but a 2000 with pinto is no problem.

As a note I have completed the 00+ body work (has the frame protrusions on it vs the smooth body of the earlier cars) as well as the narrow mustache with the Pennon style endplates.

If you already have the files but would like these options just let me know and I will send you out the new files.

I don't want to speak for Roger, but if someone had blueprints or existing CAD files to reference, or was able to 3D scan a real car, there is the possibility.

So how would some of us that don't have 3D printing capabilities get one of these made? Anyone willing to make one and sell it to someone else, like me?

You can either order one from myself (will be a while as I still have 6 or 7 currently on order) or you can reach out to Shane Viccary as he has mentioned he wouldn't mind selling them as he already sells 3D printed track maps.

Shane is AVR_Shane here on Apex.

    Default Clawson Motorsports VD RF-01

I just finished painting and assembling this car. It's one of the red cars in the photos in the above pictures. It will be in a model car show at the International Motor Racing Research Center, in Watkins Glen on 4/15/23.

That's awesome! Hopefully Roger will be credited with the model design.

I wonder if I polycam scan my car if that would create a good enough model for someone to clean up and make 3D printable?

That he will. It's quite a piece of work and well worth the money.
