    Default Brad Baytos - Update

Quick post to update everyone on the situation. Brad is currently in a medical induced coma. He was in an accident last week on his way down to Sebring and totaled his truck and trailer. And then sometime Saturday evening/Sunday morning, he suffered a stroke.

I spoke with the family this morning and they asked me to help put the word out. They have his phone but it is impossible to respond or reply to everyone.

There are more questions than answers at this point, so we will keep you updated as we learn more.

Damn that's bad news. He's such a nice guy, hate to see bad things happen to nice people like him.

Keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Talked to Jon last night and its certainly not good. Our paths have been intertwined since 1981 so they are like extended family.to me.
I really hope he pulls through this

My very best wishes to Brad and his family.

I first met him when I was on pole at the Runoffs. He brought a pile of early VD parts over for me, for free. "I can't sell this old stuff so I hope you can use it!" He then introduced me to a bunch of people who would help me out significantly and become good friends. He never asked for anything in return. The world needs more like him.

Oh man, he's been helping me get this RF95 frame up done and has been so supportive. Like a cheerleader. We were going back and forth on a few open items when the responses stopped - I'm so sad to hear this.

    Hang in there Brad.

One of the nicest and most enthusiastic person you could meet in the paddock. Even midway through the Sebring weekend he was trying to help Nick remotely.
All the best for a full recovery Brad and thoughts with Jon and other family members.

Best info I have indicates that his accident happened during his drive towards Sebring on Wednesday.. He survived the accident and went home, only to have a stroke at home Thursday morning. Hospital since that time.

    Brad Baytos Update:

Brad is still in an induced coma. They are looking at transferring him to a hospital in Charleston as soon as a bed opens up before they begin the process of trying to pull him out of it. Not yet sure when that will happen but we’ll keep everyone updated.

Due to the outpouring of support, we are also working on getting a GoFundMe page started to help replace his trailer, which was totaled in the accident. The truck was insured but the trailer was not, so the family is looking to help keep the business going when he recovers.

Any little bit helps. We’ll get the link posted here shortly. And I’ll keep everyone updated as information comes available. The family can’t thank everyone enough for their support.

Ok, this explains a lot. Treadway talked to Brad not long after the accident. Brad told him the truck and trailer were trashed but he was just sore and banged up a bit. He must have had the stroke not long after that call.

This is terrible despite not knowing Brad.

We’re good for a hundred once the site’s up.

Goodonya for doing that for him. This is both the worst and the best in racing.

Have been working the phones today.
So many report that because Brad was at the track their race weekend was saved.
In the East we have been spoiled by expecting the Primus trailer to be at the track loaded with parts.

Sad news for sure . One of the things I missed about moving to Radical cup from open wheel was shooting the **** and dealing with Brad . Everytime I submitted an order I knew something would arrive. Was it what I ordered ? Maybe 80% of the time , LOL The call back after receiving the wrong part was always the same . Brad laughing as he was explaining he didnt have what I ordered so I sent that instead . Priceless , Speedy recovery Brad .Hope to talk soon
