    Default Nice car!

I like the Caldwell a lot. But, even given your caveat, I'd have to say that Zink made a decent number of FF cars in the USA

    cheers,
    BT

Love the Caldwells! Do you have the Chassis number for it?

Caldwell was the first SCCA FF Championship car but don't forget a little US company called Swift. Also SCCA Runoff winners made here were ADF, Piper, and Eagle

I wish your car had been for sale back in 2018 when I was looking! Because of that epic first SCCA Championship win, I thought a D9 would be the perfect match for my herd of American FFs (Swift DB6 and Zink Z16). Instead, I found the March. Then the Royale. But I digress....

Legrand did make FFs! The Mk 10 was made 1969-72. None are listed as competing in the Runoffs. And guess what car finished 2nd to Skip in 1969? A Beach FF!

(I spend too much time looking at stuff on the internet. I'm going to blame below freezing weather)

I don't get it. As the long-time owner of a Titan Mk6, the Caldwell D9 is the only Vintage FF that I believe is as pretty or prettier. GREAT looking car, great prep, great info on the car. Lesser cars have sold for more. Just wish I was in the market for another race car (Two vintage FFs and two vintage Sports Racers is enough quite sufficient. , for now).

Just a word of encouragement. In my opinion, someone will step up. It's too nice to linger.

Good looking car. Maybe some additional photos of it with the body off and close ups of motor, trans, etc may help with your sale. Good luck.

    What about the price?
In my opinion, one still and one action picture is enough with the body on, then I would want several of the details - dash. chassis plate, front suspension, rear suspension, engine. Pictures are more valuable, for me anyway.

An overview of the history is probably enough but I'm more curious about the specific condition and what will come with the car - any spare wheels, gears, etc. How available are additional spares? It's likely that someone looking for a Vintage will have some idea what they want, just need to connect with the right person who's ready for the right car. I was literally that person till about July 2018!

The other thing that helps is that with rando's commenting on your listing, more eyeballs will see it!

Really good looking car. If I was in the market for a FF this would be a good buy.

Sorry to board the correction train EffOne, but club racing history is scattered enough to make this important. I don’t think anyone’s trying to be critical so much as simply accurate.

To wit, longtime karter Chuck Pittenger drove a factory-backed LeGrand Mk21 to a 4th-place finish at the 1975 SCCA Runoffs.

Beyond, the ad reads fine. I agree with “the more detail the better” when discussing a valued piece like this. I personally put little credence in people having short attention spans these days, that’s their problem and we have texting and FB to thank for it.

I hope all the corrections are okay. It happens, and no harm, no foul.

By the way, the car is stunningly beautiful and seems to be a great deal. Ad’s only been up two weeks, people are scattered after the holidays and everything else we’re all having to cope with of late.

Be patient, it’ll sell and I wish you luck.

PS — I saw “A to Z” race many times in the ‘70s, including in the Eagle. And he was great to kids.
