Default An affordable Steering Wheel and Pedal set

    Hello,

I am looking for an affordable Steering Wheel and Pedal set for my nephew to use on a PC.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Depends on which programs and how serious he is. I'd say a force feedback wheel is the better option than the cheap video game style wheels, and I have the Logitech G29. About $250, it's got a clutch as well. Some of the cheaper ones like the Thrustmaster TMX and T150 only have brake and accel, you save maybe 20-30 bucks.

If that's not in the budget, non-feedback from makers like HORI are about half the price. Any cheaper than that and the thing's just going to fall apart. In my opinion, force feedback is necessary to enjoyment and engagement. Note that PS4 controls are usually compatible with PCs, some Xbox controls are not.

As soon as I've got the extra money, I'm buying the LOGITECH G923. In the lower priced systems this looks like the best for the dollar.

Don't forget to check craigslist. Saw someone selling a G27 in Bradenton for $120 with a shifter included.

Logitech G29 is great entry level unit.

I used it for over a year very successfully. Is not the same level of feedback of Fanatec and Higher End solutions, but is a solid unit.

Logitech G29 with Ricmotech brake load cell update will be a good starting point. It is not perfect but if you want something which will respond to good driving technique is will do the job. If you want something that is completely realistic you will be disappointed.
