Default High quality electric kart for 4yo.

    Hello,

Are there any decent (i.e. not walmart plastic) electric go-karts with remote shutoff that I could get for my 4yo daughter? I'm looking for something better then the electric ride along toys sold in the stores.

    I can't find anything with a simple on-line search.

    Remote shut off is important.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Have you looked into the company K1 Indoor Kart Racing uses? I know they have the ability to both set power levels and shut down the carts.

I second this request. My soon-to-be 6 year old grandson won't fit in the plastic electic cars come next summer. I'm thinking a kid kart with electric motor. My brother is an electical engineer. Maybe he could help create one.

I spoke with a 40-year friend about this, and being a race shop he had no first-hand knowledge of anything for such a young age.

You might try calling Comet Kart Sales. Last time I did was a decade ago, but Mark Dismore still ran it.

I did find this as a starter for your search:

You’re ahead on the age curve here, Michael. But I think it’s as cool as it gets.

Your daughter may enjoy following a friend of ours as time goes by. She started at 8:

There is a kart called Actev Arrow which has remote deactivation. It does not look particularly impressive

I would be more inclined to get a regular Kid Kart racing chassis ( They are readily available used as the kids are typically only in them 3 years). I would get a Briggs LO206 Kid Kart motor and simply move up the throttle stop to only allow part throttle.

You can then get a remote shut off from BMI karts.

Good point is that the Briggs Engine can be used nearly forever by just changing the carb restriction and can be used for actual racing if desired.
