Default Thinking about S2000. Lots of questions.

I think I want to race S2000 but is S2000 drying up? I like the whole idea of spec cars, and especially like the level of hp to weight ratio in an S2000. I have a Lotus 2 Eleven, but it doesn't fit in well with any classification. I live in AZ and SCCA has dried up here. I have a 67 Alfa Duetto race car, and even though I belong to a private track here, there is no one to run with. There is not really any vintage racing here, but I would like to find out the best organization to join to be able to race primarily in the west.

Maybe SVRA? And if so, what year is vintage? And if it's like FF, there are years that are vintage and years that are vintage and inherently faster due to chassis and suspension.

    I would appreciate any guidance!

Vintage S2 (any year car) is alive and well in the East with some really quick drivers.

Just like FF there are early cars which are more basic and later ones which get pretty sophisticated and a bit faster.
I help with a few Swifts that are based in in the Phoenix Scottsdale area
they run occasionally with this group

they fit nicely into the open wheel grouping of cars
I will be at the event coming up this weekend 11-6,7 with a formula car.
Feel free to contact me and i will try to get you connected with them.

Get a DB2 with a good base line setup and enjoy it. They are fantastic cars. With a nice setup, they are incredibly friendly even on the ragged edge.
