    Default Shop Vise

    Gents;

    Recommendations for a good quality and typical sized bench mounted shop vise. I have been looking at Wiltons.

    Looking at your heading and the text, I am not sure if you looking for vise or vice? You will get very different replies and opinions.... just saying.

    In American English the word for a device with movable metal jaws is "vise." Most of us around here have many shop related vices though.

    For example; https://www.shars.com/products/workholding/vise

    I think Wilton vises are kind of the go to domestically made vises. Plenty of import vises are fairly decent these days though.
