I'm thinking we should already know the answer .. from the LACK of any astounding revolutions in engines in the last few years.
Surely, if it WORKED.. we would have heard more about it by now. Seemed a little 'simple sounding' to me. SO MUCH improvement for SO LITTLE change starts toward 'hearsay' info I would think.

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.
My guess is with electrification, nobody wants to take on a new IC engine concept. All the hybrid motors are well under 2L, so vibration is not that big of a deal.
