Hi to everyone- my first posting, met jim christian in topeka 8/30 checked out his FSCCA, going to put my 25% down on tuesday! Jim suggests getting the alternator and I agree but was wondering what the general consensus is on this and also the optional oil cooler. Also wondering if anyone else in the Kansas City area has one. Can't wait for next spring!!

I just installed mine but unfortunately I have not have a chance of trying it, but I think that everyone will end up using one. I will keep you posted on how the alternator works. Good luck with the car

I have run about 10 races w/o an alternator. Boy! What a pain in the butt. We had to have the battery charger hooked up all the time between races. We have one more race weekend, then I'll have my mechanic (Jim Christian) install an alternator in my car.

As a side note, however, I was just at a racetrack along with Jim Christian. Jim had an alternator in his car but indicated his car needed some "help from the battery charger" between some of the track time.
