Primus Race Series is back starting at Daytona August 6-8
F2000 and F1600 classes sponsored by Primus Racing Parts

From Pawleys Island,SC. July 24, 2021 We are happy to announce the return of Primus Sponsored events starting with Daytona International Raceway August 6-8.

Primus will sponsor both F2000 and f1600 classes at Daytona. Sorry for late notice but this will be the beginning of the Primus Racing series. We will have Trophies and prizes for both F2000 and F1600 classes. Our regular sponsors Quartermaster, Aero strait race mirrors, OZ racing wheels, Driven race Oil and Wilwood Brakes will be some of the prizes awarded to competitors running during the weekend event. The F2000 group will run according to FRP pro series rules which are the same regulations in SCCA racing. This will be the beginning of future events for 2021 and a full regular schedule will return in 2022. All competitors must run the spec Hoosier racing tires according to their class and same tire rules apply. The Primus Racing parts trailer will be set up at Daytona speedway and prizes and trophies will be distributed from that area. If you would like to be a part of this event there is no registration required only that you run Primus Racing parts decals and Hoosier decals. We will soon announce the remaining of a limited schedule for 2021. There will be no points pay out for championship but that will resume in 2022 when we go back to regular 5 weekend schedule. We hope as many people as possible can join at Daytona with this late notice. There will be several prizes given through drawings and also by finishing positions. Look forward to seeing everyone soon. any questions about the weekends event you can contact. lets spread the word and start building the group back up to where we had it before disaster struck. The final event of the year will most likely be held at Road Atlanta during ARRC weekend.

    Default A heads up

A call to Hoosier this morning to have a set of the new FC Spec tire loaded up for Daytona resulted in Hoosier saying they won't know until the truck rolls out if they'll have enough sets of FC Spec tires - So if that's what Hoosier says when they arrive it would seem necessary for Tech to waive the tire rule I guess. I've not reached out to any Steward about this and will not do so in the near future. It would seem to be one of those "game-time-decisions" that will maybe need to be brought to the attention of Tech before Qualifying if a tire shortage is how it ends up - and then asking Tech to confirm this by their talking to Hosier at the track I guess. Post-race impound might work because it would be a short walk from impound over to the Hoosier station.
