I FORGOT TO MENTION ON MY LAST POST THAT WE GOT BUSTED FOR SOUND. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TAKE A PIECE OF 90 DEG PIPE TO AIM THE EXHAUST AWAY FROM SOUND CONTROL UNTIL ENT. COMES UP WITH A MUFFLER.

ALSO, IN REPSONSE TO ANOTHER POST, WE PULLED THE GEARBOX DOWN AND IT WAS CLEAN... NO MACHINING DEBRIS. THE DOGS, AFTER (9) SESSIONS, LOOKED LIKE NEW.

Those of us in the NW that run at PIR are required to run a muffler. I was wondering about sound. I sold a FranAm 2000 car that I couldnt fit in, which had a very nice, slim, non power robbing muffler. And the sound is very nice and racy. I'd hate to see a bulbous, or boxy unit ruin the good looks of this car. I've got a nice close up pic, but not sure how to attach. I can email it to one of you wizards to post. Can't wait for my car to show up.

That looks like a Coastal muffler. I had one on my FC, very nice (stainless, flow thru design) and very pricey (I seem to remember over 200 dollars)but be careful they do not reduce noise very much, enough certainly to get under most "unmuffled" thresholds but usually not enough to get under "muffled" events. I was still around 96 dBa's.

Our muffled limit at PIR is 100db, most other west coast tracks are 103. PIR requires a muffler even if the car was under 100db. Something they can't run a stick up your tailpipe with. With the FranAM car, it ran at 94-96db. Will probably try it, when the new car debuts.
