Default Intercomp Vs Longacre Scale Quality

I recently upgraded to a set of Intercomp scales, and was surprised to see how banged up they were upon arrival. There are gouges, dents, deep scratches everywhere, black marks along the sides of the pad, and weird circular marks on the top and bottom.

Now, I certainly understand some scratches and dings during the test/calibration process are to be expected, but this seems excessive. Every scale pad has multiple marks and scratches. For a premium product at a higher than average price, I expected more.

Intercomp didn't seem surprised at all, and told me that there wasn't anything they could/would do about it.

Should I expect the same fit/finish from Longacre? Do their pads come with the same marks on them?

My intercomp scales have over a 100K miles of bouncing around in a trailer for the last decade, and never missed a beat during that time. If yours work half that well, you will soon forget about your first impressions.

The photos clearly show the damage going through the film. Regardless, Intercomp only puts the film on the top. Damage is on the top and bottom.

Intercomp also confirmed that the film should remain on to prevent further damage.
