So, conversion kits still not available? You would have to piece it together from two (or more) vendors?

No mention of exhaust (18000F21SB200) or transmission adapter (50500F21SC200). Let's hope Fast Forward can get the license to make these parts too.

    Default Honda kit update

I talked with HPD on Monday and they said that fast forward will be doing all the parts for the cars and HPD will only be doing the wiring harnesses and the ECU.

Any one know where to get new oil and fuel pressure sensors 37260FC4YA000. HPD and Fast forward doesn't sell them.

I tried buying surplus sensors with almost identical numbers ..... but not right.

I found substitute sensors that did work, and much cheaper price.
I will need a few days to find that info though. I will advise Chris.

In investigating this a little bit, I took a quick look at the "2018 Honda Racing Line Price List" I received for the RF99 Van Diemen, and I discovered that for some of the parts, the 5 digit numeric code can be used at the site that DanW showed...

    https://www.hondapartsnow.com/

...and you can find what is pretty obviously the stock Honda part.

For instance, the air/fuel sensor listed on page two of the price list...

    ("36531RCAA02 - SENSOR,LAF FR" for $167.69)

...matches up with the "Honda 36531-RME-A01 Sensor, Air Fuel Ratio".

    https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...1-rme-a01.html

And you can take the Honda stock part number to... ...RockAuto?

    https://www.rockauto.com/en/partsear...=36531-RME-A01

    And voila!

I'm attaching the Honda Racing Line PDF to this post if anyone wants to use it.

Looking at the shape of the connectors on the sensors from above, the connection port is oval and has the pins in line. The connection on my harness and current sensors are round and have the pins in a triangular shape. Have some of you changed the plugs on your harness to accommodate the sensor listed ?

I'm going to contact Honda to see if there is a more up-to-date parts list to see if anything has changed.

I thought the FP and OP sensors used on the auxiliary sensor harness were military spec sensors that will work on specific channels with the ECU as programmed. I did not believe that you can substitute Honda sensors and have them work on those channels. I thought that in order to use Honda sensors, you would need to use channels on your data/dash system and create "custom" configurations.

My memory is hazy, but David Ferguson helped me with this 2 years ago.
    HPD was selling a Sensata sensor. 63CP022 0150 GUNA0 (or GVNA0) not sure whether U or V.

David directed me to two sensors
I initially struggled but got the Autex one to work. I use it on FP and the original Sensata ones on OP. I have now had 3 of the sensata units go bad. I expect they should be installed remotely with a flex line.

David said he normally has something that can be substituted, but was out of stock then. Perhaps Veracity can advise, or sell you what you need now.

Thanks Greg, the link you added has the same configuration of sensor connections as my cars have. I ordered a few from both brands. I like the idea of the flex line.

My car was converted and run by a professional shop before it came to me, and the oil pressure sensor is on a flex line.

    So I'd say it's a good idea.

It's not uncommon for the sensors to fail from vibration. The VDO/AIM pressure sensors won't last two weekends hard mounted to the block.

HPD had a fitting to mount directly to the block. I expect that the $200+ Sensata sensor was chosen so a remote line was not necessary. Over the winter, I will add flexlines to mine. I can buy a lot of flexline to save $200 while using a $28 sensor.

We are now using a mechanical gauge to set fuel pressure rather than the sensor and ECU channel. Not sure which brand sensor it was, but we were seeing a difference of several psi on one car. Insignificant if monitoring OP but perhaps relevant if setting FP.

FYI Zetec users. Many of the Zetec cars also use the same Sensata sensor for OP and FP.

I had a similar problem with OP sensors on the old Formula Mazdas as well. There's some peculiar harmonics at certain RPM's in both engines and for some reason the OP sensors really don't like it. In both cases I ran a short -3 line from an adapter in the block to the sensor, which I zip-tie to the frame with some foam tape (the stuff they sell for window sealing at home depot). So far I haven't had a sensor failure with them mounted this way. Since the Fuel Pressure sensor is the same type, I mount that remotely as well.

    Default Honda OE parts numbers

I also find the HPD parts number list handy when looking for items. I believe all of the parts are currently available through HPD.

    Jay, two things:

    1. Where did that list come from? I've talked to the Honda Racing Line folks quite a few times by now, and it's been like pulling teeth.
    2. If the original file exists with copyable text in it, could you repost it as a PDF? It's a lot easier to copy and paste than retype.

    Cheers

I also did a little work in Numbers. So here's a version of the parts list which also includes URLs for RockAuto parts searches.

I make no promises for their accuracy, but they seem to be right at first glance.

    Default Fit HPD Kits update

I wanted to offer a quick update and possibly ease some concerns I’ve heard. Yesterday I had the opportunity to stop by Fast Forward and chat with the Learneds. Hopefully Doug does not mind me sharing. While I was there, I personally saw with my own eyes large wooden crates full of Honda Fit HPD oils pans, intake manifolds, etc. They did not receive much (or any?) support from Honda when assuming this project, yet they appear to have the big pieces and it should be only a matter of time for them to have full kits.

    Eric

PS Doug Sr seems to really have a bad case of this this racing disease because in addition to his Piper stuff he also had a recently acquired Formula Vee he’s doing something with.

Having done my own large-scale projects in the past I can say it takes a bit of time to get everything together even when the supply chain isn't completely borked by a pandemic. Glad to hear things are progressing.
