    Default Kershaw - 6 cars ??

Is Racemonitor correct, only 6 FC at Kershaw today?

Is it the choice of track?
Is it because its Easter (even with the Thur-Sat schedule consession)
Or has FC just run its course?

All those Pinto/Zetec/Tire/Weight discussions are irrelevant if cars dont show up

I think you are correct Ian it is mostly timing. Kershaw followed several majors events, Easter holiday weekend, etc. I was planning to go but decided to do some engine work instead. There were 10 entries originally. Also it is still too damn cold for us Florida swampers to be heading north!

But something doesn't add up as there is a decent F1600 field & I was surprised at how big the F1000 field is. Or is it only Easter for the FC/F2000 field?

The real story was how a underfunded kid in an old DB6 with a Kent finished 2nd by a few tenths in the F1600 race....

Saw that, well done, but did the winner really start 11th?

Fewer than normal, but HSR is at Sebring and VDCA/VRG is at VIR.

Yes, after hammering the Armco in morning practice and ending in the gravel in qualifying. Ax and the K-Hill crew did a fantastic job. Outhouse to penthouse in a few short hours.

Actually it was an even older db6 that had been neutered and hondaized

Would that have been a little Lee? I hear the kid has some talent. Been a while since I been to CMP, but I remember I had to hit the brakes on my bicycle to make turn 1. My... bicycle.. could be another reason folks shy away.

There were 8 F1600s in the lead pack. Six different drivers topped the time sheet in the 10 sessions. With equal engines and equal tires, stable rules for 35+ years, the actual car matters very little. Final setup, driver performance, and team execution are key. All 8 were full value and could have won any race. Ax and Jonathon, and their crew, were the two that performed and executed in race 1. Generally, Nick, Joey, and Bob were leading the pack, but Nick was the only one who could finish the job (twice). It was an outstanding race event at a fun club track. Should be even better once we hit the classic race tracks.

Whether FC or F2000, the community needs to start showing up at races. The six that make the commitment cannot feel good about those that bailed. most of whom had complete running cars 5 months ago. How can Bob keep providing one-class groups when people won't support them? The FV turnout was very good, considering that Series is low budget, and Northern based. Those drivers are not used to starting in April or travelling long distance. Many are locked down in Canada. Well done FVCC and F1000!

Disclaimer: My commentary above is from the perspective of a team with 3 F1600 customers in a 3 car trailer. My FC effort is private, and only possible because I have my trailer full at FRP events (total 24 FRP entries). I am striving to support 5 SCCA events, bringing 4 FC entries, and 10-12 FF entries.
