Default 96 van diemen fit conversion- slave cylinder question

I’m getting my trans and bell housing ready for the swap and I’m curious how anyone else sliced the mid 90s van diemen slave setup for the honda. My thought was to not use the built in unit. instead, machine an adapter that would slide into the bell housing and sit proud. Then use the tilton concentric slave at the correct distance for the Honda clutch.. Drill for line access and bleeder external to the casting (obviously still inside the bell housing, just not using the internal line connection or bleeder). Does this sound right? Anyone care to show your setup?

    Thank you,
    AJ

Because most 20+ year old cars have had the slave cylinder setup uprated or changed to a Tilton or Saab unit, I don't think there is any common configuration used on the conversion. You need to make some kind of donut spacer to get the correct depth. It has been too long for me to remember the desirable gap, but it is a generic spec that someone else can provide for you.

My 97 conversion still had the original VD cylinder conversion, which I replaced with a tilton unit. It sounds like you are on the right path.
