    Default RF94/95 Damper Help

    Gents;

    I will be having some structural engineering done on a set of ST44 Ohlins piggyback dampers to replace the factory Penske 8100s, external canister.
    • my Penske dampers (F & R) are 10.0”, eye bearing centerline to eye bearing centerline;
    • the 10.0” is measured out of the car, static;
    • canister gas at normal operating pressure.

    I need the eye centerline to eye centerline on both front and rear dampers before installed, static, canister at normal pressure, then in the car in race trim, driver in the car (I weigh 160), fuel onboard (on a platen would be great). I visited with Brad today, and although he did not have any data, but he thought the settling would be very little.

    Lastly, does anyone have linear displacement potentiometer travel values on any given track for the 8100s?

    Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Gents;

    My chassis is in the process of being re-powder coated, so I have no way of determining this data on my own. And I REALLY need it.

    Therefore, I will gladly pay $50/hr for your time, but I need ALL the data, especially the potentiometer derived travel distances.

    Stan;

    The last time I had them dyno'd by Anita Milikin before she retired, 2.5wt/oil, psi 150

    Rick, my RF95 are also 10.0" static unloaded full extension.

    Are you asking for the dimension when the shock is compressed with it's static corner weight?

    Yep, the eyelet center-line to eyelet center-line as if you are in the car, on the grid.

    Rick I think that is going to depend on many factors. - corner weight, spring rate, spring preload, motion ratio.... but good news is that I think you can probably calculate how much shock travel you will have at race weight once you consider all of that.
