    Default Oil Temperature

Where is the proper location to measure temperature?
In the line entering the engine? ("guzinta")
In the line leaving the engine? ("guzouta")

I've heard convincing arguments for both. Now I'd like to hear from the experts.

(experts? cue Holiday Inn Express joke ...)

however, all oils have a "do not exceed" temperature, and unless you measure the temp coming out of the engine, you'll never know what the max temp in the system reaches.

that said, overly cool oil wastes power, so perhaps the right answer is taking two readings?

    Default Oil Temp

Back when we ran Carrillo Rods they were very clear the oil temp should be between 220-230 deg F. We measure coming out and going in, both captured by the DA system, at one point before the DA system had the capability I had a toggle switch that moved between the 2 sensors.

Thanks for the input. I think I’ll add the 2nd sensor. It will be good to see how effective the cooling setup is.
