Next race for the Right Coast Formula F Series (RCFFS) is back to Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PIRC) on October 16-18, 2020 for The Double Crown/Post Runoffs Blast. This race is the second to last RCFFS race of the year before we head to Road Atlanta in Georgia for the Halloween weekend, The Pumpkin Cup. The weather at PIRC should be cooler than it was in June and the fall colors ought to be in force.
Click here to register. For those of you who have already registered, thank you! If you’re considering racing with us at PIRC please sign up now so we can plan accordingly for trophies and secure our format. Remember you can register without needing to commit to the registration fee.
We will once again be with Formula Race Promotions and following a schedule similar to our previous sessions. We're planning to have three “micro" classes again - CF Treaded, CF Slicks, and FF. If needed, SCCA Annual Tech Inspections will be available to competitors at the event. Registration links, the schedule, and other useful items are on our website. We’ll post other details and items related to these special times as they become available. It is anticipated that the same FRP COVID-19 guidelines will be applicable.
We’ll have posters and we plan on doing a podium again for the Feature Race. The Feature Race will now be the second race of the weekend as we discussed at the Summit award ceremony where drivers agreed that it would be a good thing to try for the next event. Our usual awarding of the trophies for the Feature Race will happen about 30 minutes after we get off track. By making the second race our feature race it will allow us to get out in a more timely fashion after the third Bonus Race and in-the-future it will dovetail nicely with our socials. So, we will have an Initial Race, a Feature Race, and then a Bonus Race for our usual total of 3 races! Total track time is 2.5 hours for the basic entry fee with an additional almost 1.5 hours for a practice fee.
Note: We have confirmed that camping is back to normal at PIRC for this race. No restrictions.
Some more good news to share with all. Since our race at Summit Point, we know of one of our drivers has gotten his full competition license - Congrats, Brian Farrell, CF #21!
Also, thanks to all who came to Summit Point to race with us in August. It was very nice having the VRG folks join us!
The racing is fabulous at PIRC so please sign up now to come race on October 16-18, 2020. As always this is an inclusive race event catering to Formula F cars (FF, Formula Ford, CF, HF) of all configurations and drivers of all ages with minimally demanding requirements - slicks, treaded tires, Kent, Cortina or Honda power.
Stay healthy and safe,
Angela Slocum, David Gernert, and Will Velkoff
