Default Seeking Information for Suzuki/Yamaha Dry Sump System

Could anyone on the forum please direct me a company or individual that produces a complete dry sump system for the Suzuki GSXR 750/1000 CC engine or for the Yamaha YZF-R1 1000CC engine? Appreciate any insights or contact information and thanks, Jerry

    Hi Jerry,

Generally speaking I don't think you'll find a dry sump "kit" per se as they tend to be quite custom by nature.

You might spend some time checking out the "other" sports racer forum - there is probably more info there:
    https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/dsrforum/

I would call George Dean in WA and ask him about availability of dry sump pans - he will be able to point you in the right direction. Once you have the pan and pump sorted, tanks and lines are relatively straightforward.

With that said, there are also more and more cars running purpose built, baffled, wet sump pans (myself included). This might not be the right answer if you are going to run an oval at 150mph but depending on your use case, might be worth considering for lower cost and far lower complexity.

    Good luck,

What Mark said. George is the go to guy for all things motor related to FB/DSR/P2/P1.

I would also echo what he said about wet sumps. They've been developed enough with swinging pickups that dry sumps aren't really necessary, except in real extreme situations. Depending on your install I'd definitely consider using a wet sump pan, and a higher flow oil pump (in the suzuki anyway. Dunno bout the yamaha).
