Default Master & slave cylinder sizes for Tilton FF clutch

This might have been previously discussed, but what is the best master/slave size combo?

I have a Tilton clutch assembly on my Titan FF with a .75" slave cylinder. The pedal has always been very, very heavy (I think the Tilton pressure plate may have those extra strong springs, probably un-needed for a FF). But I've put up with it as I don't use the clutch when racing.

However, I'm replacing the master and wonder what folks think would be the best cylinder dimension.

    Any thoughts are welcome.

If you do not have an annular slave there is so much lost motion in the mechanical portion of the clutch linkage (cross shaft, lever arm, etc) that you may not be able to go to a .70 master. If you have very little pedal travel left when the clutch releases, you will be stuck with the .75.

If I could add to what Roland has said, don't bother with the clutch return spring at the slave and linkage. Weld on a piece of reinforcing steel to the lever to make it stiffer. Take out all the slack in the adjustment and let the release bearing ride just barely touching the pressure plate. Neil Porter suggested this to me when I had my Zink Z10 with the stock VW linkage.

    I use a 3/4" master and a 7/8" slave cylinder.

Make sure you use the corect throw out bearing 44mm od I think and you should get enough travel out of a .70 master cylinder
we have even used a .625 with no problems but it requires a lot of travel ,
