1982 PRS 82F. I just completed TOTAL restoration of my 1982 PRS 82F. This particular race car was slightly modified, and developed by some of the biggest names in U.S. Formula Ford racing. It was one of four imported into the U.S., and is chassis #3. The log books are interesting.
After purchasing the car in 1981, a full teardown was performed, followed by the frame being powder-coated. A new .060, 6061 aluminum floor was epoxy bonded, and flush-riveted on, before the rebuild began. During the restoration process, 99.99% of the nuts, bolts, screws, and washers were replaced with new, either AN, or Grade 8. The dashboard, gauges, switches, wiring, over-flow bottles, hoses, fire system piping, and all of the sheet metal are new. Most of the sheet metal has been hand polished to a mirror finish. The master cylinders were all cleaned (exterior bead blasted),and rebuilt with new seals. The suspension pieces (previously painted black) were all stripped, and nickle-plated, with the replacement of all rod ends with new. The CVs were all replaced with "lightened", and zinc-coated, and new boots installed on the half shafts. The battery is new as well.
The fresh motor (no races, only run-up time), started as an up-rated Farley, but the block was replaced. The aluminum engine parts (Bellhousing adaptor, valve cover, front and rear covers, and the intake manifold) were glass bead blasted, and the engine was assembled with all new exterior bolts, and screws. The engine also has a new starter (one race weekend). The clutch plate, and throw-out bearing are new as well.
The bodywork was repaired, and freshly painted prior to me purchasing the car, and other than a cleaning, needed no attention.
The car comes with two sets of wheels, and set of original modular, and a freshly powder-coated set of Panasports, mounted with very low-time Vintage Hoosier tires. The car also comes with a spare nose (unpainted), the nose mold, the rear tailcone mold, the jigs to make the suspension wishbones, the original fiberglass seat. 3 anti-sway bars (different sizes), a set of string set-up bars, and some odds, and ends.
This car only needs a set-up performed to the new owners liking, and new race harness, and whatever seating arrangement they prefer. There is a poured seat backrest included. This car is very roomy!!
This is essentially a "New" race car, and would provide a new owner with a unique car to race, and show for years to come!!
The price for this gem is set at $16,000 Firm.
Pictures to follow once I transfer to this computer.
