Default Options on what to do / when to scrap a damaged frame?

I decided it was beyond my budget and time to repair my RF85 frame from a head on shunt 6 months ago and parted the rest of the car. I haven't found any interest in it so starting to think it will be scrapped. Scrapping would be... emotional. Are there any good alternatives?

Keep the chassis plate (if you have it still) and recycle the remainder, knowing that it's 'DNA' will continue in many things!

Everything between the chassis plate and the tires can be rebuilt.

    Default Replacing the chassis

If you replace the chassis completely on a historic car is it still the same historic car?

The spaceframe version of retubbing a monocoque.

At some point, someone might be able to use a chunk of your frame to rebuild another damaged one. They don't always get smacked
on the front end. Is it completely bent , bashed , pretzeled , mashed ? Or is there still a reasonable percentage that is undamaged ?
Rear portions of frames might be useful to return a bike engine conversion to FF configuration. Some of the conversions are pretty bush league and as older FF's become rarer a reversal may make sense.

I have a 1988 Reynard frame with some parts too....with a log book.....needs very "do-able" repair...Haven't had any interest either....Just can't bring myself to scrap it....

Everything front of the Dash Hoop is compromised, but really the rockers forward is what is toast. I already cut the footbox off to put on the shelf as a bit of wall art but also a honest reminder that it didn't crash itself.

I appreciate the ideas. I'd love for someone to re-purpose it but not sure I will keep the clutter until then. I will certainly keep the chassis tag.

    Brandon,
Very sad “ending” to a beautiful car. Since you sold everything off it’s likely too late, but plenty of cars have had big sections cut away and replaced. Having a frame jig and good welding skills are important. Post a pic of the damage and I suspect you’d get a lot of opinions.

Years ago I essentially "totaled" a Crossle 32F pushing in the front. ....came close to totaling myself too. The force was enough the motor mounts broke and the weight of the engine shifting forwards bent the back crossmember along with 'reangularization' of other portions of the chassis.......ugly........was told if I parted it out I could probably make more money than if the car had been race-ready-whole and I sold it.
But then there would have been one less race car in the world.

It ended up going to a good Vintage home and has turned laps since.........why is this man smiling?
