Default Summer Job with Race Team

Update: The situation has changed slightly, and I am no longer trying to fill this position. I am, however, always interested in talking with potential crew people who can help out on weekends, etc. Thanks

I would be interested in talking with someone interested in working for my race team for June/July/August. No specific skills are required although you must be interested in becoming a racing gypsy for 3 months of your life. We are located in beautiful farm country in western NY near Buffalo/Niagara Falls. Responsibilities will include the general preparation of a half-dozen Formula F/F1600/FC/F2000 cars for FRP and SCCA race events. Much of it will be "grunt" work, long days, with irregularly spaced days off. For the right person, it will be fun, very rewarding, you will learn a ton, and perhaps be the time of your life. For someone just looking for a job, or unable to embrace the gypsy lifestyle, it will not be for you. Complete dedication and responsibility far beyond the pay scale will be required. Ideal for student or young person who has not put down roots. Probably too fast-paced and physical for most seniors, but completely open to any demographics.

Update: There may be hope for our younger generation and our sport. I have met three fine young men, who were all at FRP PIRC with our team, or extended team, last weekend. Hard-working, getting dirty, long hours, fast learning, etc ..... our team has never been performing better. Jerry lives 8 mins away from the shop, and as of 10 days ago had never been to a formula car race or SCCA event. Now he has been car chief on a June Sprints winner and FRP winner. Four wins and a 2nd in 5 race starts ..... we keep telling him its not always going to be like this. All appear to be having a blast.
