For Sale 1998 Van Diemen RF98K

1998 Van Diemen RF98K (Wide Track)
    Excellent, Clean, condition. VERY Fast!!
This Chassis is the slightly narrower design, with excellent aero qualities, and has the Pro-Tech wide-track conversion, with Penske 8670 shocks (refreshed by Harrison Auto Dynamics 2019).
The LD200 (10:31) gearbox was adjusted “calibrated” by Harrison Auto Dynamics (2019), at which time the rear cover/carrier studs were replaced with new.
The car comes with two (2) engine covers, one with the low flat design, and the other with the original air scoop. Both covers have been modified with the addition of an aerodynamic long-tail. The tail is removable, separate from the engine cover for access to suspension, etc.. ALL of the bodywork is in like-new condition, has been recently refurbished, and lightened. The car has pretty decent two year old paint.
This car is FAST, as it has Ethan Shipperts’ former Run-off motor, as built by Ivey Engines. This motor was rebuilt by Ivey after I purchased it, and now has approx. 25 hours on it, with 6.5 on the aluminum Ivey head. The motor runs very strong. The Engine is uprated by Ivey, with a TDC pulley-driven oil pump, Aeroquip oil hoses, Pertronix equipped Bosch distributor, and a new Bosch coil. The engine also has a fairly new Hy-Tech header/pipe, with the pipes being jet-coated.
The car is wired with an advanced electronics package , starting with the AIM MXL Pista computer, with sensors on the front/rear brakes, all four (4) shocks, speed, RPM, steering input, H2O pressure, H2O temp, voltage, and Oil Pressure (two (2) indicators). I recently added a GPS antenna, with the original wired beacon pick-up. Car is also wired with a driver/crew radio harness, and antenna. Also mounted is a hardwired transponder.
The car was recently fitted with Wilwood aluminum calipers, The brake, and clutch masters were rebuilt in 2019, and the brakes have floating, drilled, “wave” rotors from Primus Racing. There is a front, cockpit adjustable Anti-Sway bar and a fixed, adjustable, rear.
Car comes with three (3) sets of center-lock wheels, and a small selection of gears.
There is an included Extensive spares package with this car including:
ORIGINAL PRO-TECH WIDE-TRACK WISHBONE JIGS FRONT/REAR (Purchased from Ray Germain)
    - Two rear diffusers
    - Two (2) side pod floors (New)-L/R
    - Two side pod tops (Excellent)- L/R
    - Right side panel (New)
    - Original nose/shock cover- needs a little work, but usable
    - Two (2) original aluminum crush boxes (One New, the other like-new)
    - Rear replacement Wide-track wishbones
    - Two radiators
    - Header pipe- Jet Hot coated- Ready for a muffler
    - Four drilled, “wave” (Primus Racing) floating rotors (New)
    - “Prepped” universal upright- ready to race
    - Two LD19 brake calipers
This is an Excellent, Clean, Fast, Run-Offs capable race car AS IS, or a great chassis candidate for a Honda conversion. No expense has been spared on the car!
I am 6’0”, and 200 lbs. I am very comfortable in this car!
This car has won MANY races, in the past, as well as recently, including an overall win at Circuit Of The Americas (2018), back-to-back 2nds (2017), and class back-to-back wins at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (2019)
This car could, and should be campaigned by a serious race team, with ambitions for the future. Due to the aero characteristics of this chassis, the car is a true leader!
The reason that I am selling the car, is that I’ve had A LOT of fun winning in this car, but my interests have shifted to the Vintage world, and I would like to find a project car to explore that route with.
Price is set at $27,000 or REASONABLE best offer.

All of John’s cars are truly stunning. Raced with this car just a few weeks ago and as always it was exceptionally beautiful, and fast. Todd

I had already bought an RF95 (and sold the Atom)....this is an upgrade for my son from his very tired RF97. The kid is already beating on everyone in that car, so it's only going to get worse with this one.

Anyone coming to Inde for the NASA race in May? That will probably be his first race in it.
