    Default DOT 5 Brake Fluid

Hi all. Quick question. How many are running DOT 5 (not 5.1) brake fluid and if so what are the advantages or disadvantages over DOT 4?

    Thanks and happy new year.

    Default

DOT 5 is great but it is expensive and CAN NOT be mixed with the Glycol Ether-based DOT 3, 4 or 5.1

It's not at all necessary in FF but is probably worth the expense for an FA or other large vehicle with big brakes, i.e. more than 2.5 g braking capability or a heavier car.

    Default Dot 5

If it is a silicone based brake fluid, it is not for racing. Too compressable.
