    Default Custom Li Battery needed

Any ideas where I can get a Lithium battery made in the cell configuration I need?

I currently have a 12-cell lithium battery on the cockpit side of the front roll hoop / bulkhead. It limits how far I can scoot forward, therefore limiting how low I can sit in the car. The battery is comprised of 3 rows of 4 cells. I'm trying to find a battery, or have one made, where all the cells are in a single row, or at most 2 rows and 16 cells instead of 12. If I can get a 2x8 configuration, I can get lower in the car. ( A 1x12 works too but I'd love the extra capacity of 16 and 16 won't fit in a single row)

I'm tempted to buy the cells and put one together myself, but I'd prefer to find someone to do it for me.

I'm also considering putting 2 8-cell batteries in parallel as that gets me more room as well.

Try these guys - Power Stream
Or these folks - Battery Space

I've used them both for volume production cells and packs. One offs can be pricey

I assume you are aware that it is very easy to burn things down with Li-Ion packs that aren't properly protected or improperly charged/discharged...

Thank you - I'll get in touch with them.

I'm aware of the nature of LI batteries. I've been using them for years in my FV and last year in my FC. I always keep a volt meter on them and monitor the charging voltage while charging. Never had any issues.

Had local battery store, Battery Source or Batteries. Bulb, & Things, custom build a replacement pack for a trouble light. Don't recall if Li or Nicad, but think they did both. Seemed fairly straight forward for them...spot welded "std" cells to fit space.... price was good. Find one local, walk in, and ask...?

just a random thought, since you mention a ordering custom pack or wiring 2x 8-cell batteries together....
you might be able to get some lithium RC car packs and package them in the shape you need, and they should be enough capacity too.

Interstate Batteries might be an option. They have built some obsolete industrial stuff for me in their local distribution center.

You can get individual LiFe cells from a DeWalt battery and assemble them into any configuration. Even use charging plugs to charge and test status of the individual cells correctly.

That seems the only economic and safe way to do it.
